The Potensic Atom LT is a great budget drone. If you have hunted online for a quad or drone that has range, good control, and a decent camera in the sub $200 range you know it is hard to find. The LT provides all these things and more. Potensic does offer other quads with more features, for not that much more, and there are some notable differences between those and the LT. But here is our take on what the LT has to offer and what you can expect.
Potensic EIS Camera
The LT has an EIS 2.5K camera. This means that you will get some decent photos and videos compared to “budget” drones that usually advertise 1080p. You can tilt the camera up and down using the remote control.
We are not sure about how we feel about the color of the LT. It is bright white, which means you can see it easily against a blue sky but with cloud cover it makes it more difficult to see.
Battery
The LT comes with a 3000 Mah capacity battery. This is a higher capacity battery than what is supplied for either the Potensic Atom or Potensic Atom SE. So, you will get a longer flight time in theory.
Outdoor flight only
Because the LT has no sensors or downward facing camera you can only fly it outdoors and if the drone detects GPS signals. This tends to cause the LT to “bob” slightly when closer to the ground as it hovers, due to GPS inaccuracy.
Control
This is one of the best features of the Potensic line. Your phone fits in the center of the controller.
The only thing we found lacking with the basic LT package is unlike the Atom SE and Atom, no micro-USB adapter is included. Only ones with either a lightning connector or USB-C.
The Flight Application
The application, Potenisic Pro, is used and gets the video feed from the controller itself. This means that unlike other “budget” drones that transmit to your phone, you are not relying on the reception of your cell phone. We have seen other budget drones cut out at 50 feet in the air which will not happen with the Potensic line. We found the LT very responsive, and the Pro app provides a lot of information about what the drone is doing as your flight progresses.
Micro SD Slot
The LT has a micro-SD slot like its older siblings. The SD card is used to record your flights and photos. We found that like the other Potensic drones, you must use a high-quality card to get the most out of your recordings.

Summary
Overall, we were pleased with the Atom LT. It does not have all the features of the SE or Atom, but at the same time provides a very quality flight for the price.
